Fair Trade – Fair Story
The Rumpus Room, Gen Alliance and The Sweet Shop worked together with the client to develop a film narrative utilising social media to create a fun, engaging and meaningful experience informing viewers about the issues around fair trade.
The experience is both a standalone film and an interactive online film that can be personalised using images and text retrieved via Facebook Connect. These personalised films aim to communicate how our own purchasing decisions contribute to fair trade.
Alongside the personal experience we also expressed the breadth of participation in the campaign. We achieved this by rendering the participant’s profile images from the personal films into the experience. Over time the number of people appearing in the film grow, expressing the community getting involved in the campaign.
At the end of the personalised film, photos of the viewers facebook friends were dynamically composited into the final frames, encouraging the viewer to share their story through their social network.
